THE full potential for refrigerated logistics in North East Lincolnshire will be explored later this week as part of the free Mastering Business season of events.
Rob Smith, head of operations at Morrisons Manufacturing – Grimsby, is keynote speaker, and will share the story of how the company created the vertically integrated seafood supply chain, from concept to processing at the Europarc plant and then distributing to hundreds of supermarkets nationwide.
Immingham’s dominance as an entry point for refrigerated produce, particularly fish, will also be a focus, as well as the concentration of cold storage.
Also on the bill, at Hall Farm Hotel, Ashby-cum-Fenby on Thursday afternoon is Susan Oatway from specialist supply chain advisor Drewry Shipping Consultants; a representative of Quayside Distribution, telling the Marine Harvest Grimsby salmon hub success, Paul Litten, from Humberside Airport, where a fresh produce facility is available for air freight; Chris Melville, principle port health officer for North East Lincolnshire Council; Andrew Gadd of Link2Energy, who will look at powering coldstores of the future, and Duncan Willey, partner in commercial property firm PPH, covering property demand, supply and quality.
It takes place between noon and 4.30pm, with lunch.
