Omani firm Dahra Logistics & Marketing that specialises in supporting the aerospace, defence and security sectors in some GCC and other countries, will be the only firm representing the sultanate at the Dubai Air Show 2013.
The show will be held from November 17 to 21 at Dubai World Central. It has been participating in the event since 2003.
Nine members from its engineering, marketing, sales and operations departments will attend the event.
“Our participation is exceptional this year in terms of space of the stalls and the activities that we will be highlighting,” Khamis al Ajmi, CEO of Dahra Logistics & Marketing, said while addressing a press conference at the company’s headquarters in Ruwi on Tuesday.
“We are going to focus on the security sector besides the defence sector. We aim to be the solution providers focusing on security aspects. The Dubai Air Show helped us in having presence in new countries,” he added.
Talking about experiences at the previous Dubai Air Shows, Ajmi said, “The last exhibition encouraged us to expand into different activities and into different territories. We established ourselves in the UK and also in the UAE.”
According to Ajmi, the company also has presence in the Netherlands, Bahrain, Qatar and Turkey.
Gen (retd) Younis al Balushi, CEO, AIS Oman and partner at Dahra Logistics & Marketing, said,
“We consider ourselves as solution providers. We want to make a bigger contribution to the national economy by creating jobs and training.”
Ajmi said the firm is planning expansions and will raise the Omanisation percentage from the current 88 to 90.
